Book Restoration Project | Cookery Book

Coming across this treasured and much used cookery book, in desperate need of repair, I drew on my traditional bookbinding and book restoration skills, acquired during my studies and training at London College of Communication (formerly London College of Printing) to repair and restore the tome so that it is fit for regular use in the home kitchen. I began by removing the plastic coating from the original cover. I designed and created a new hard back cover and case bound the volume using beautiful, double sided gift wrap to make the coordinated end papers.

The cookery book is now ready to be displayed proudly on a bookshelf, to use and treasure and pass on to future generations. A wonderful family heirloom!
